About Me

Growing up in the wilds of northern Ontario with sap on my skin and twigs in my hair, I developed a lifelong obsession with natural history and biology. I eventually moved west to explore the mountains, oceans and everything in between, and now live on the unceded traditional territory of the K’ómoks First Nation in the Comox Valley.

I currently bring home the vegan bacon as a freelance writer, educator, designer, and communications specialist. I’m a regular script writer for SciShow, a YouTube channel sharing surprising science discoveries, and co-author of the book 125 Nature Hot Spots in British Columbia, an illustrated guidebook to this province’s remarkable natural diversity. I consider myself a burrito connoisseur.
