I regularly participate in public speaking events, from educational talks to interpretive walks. I love sharing my passion for all things wild and weird about the natural world around us.

Past Events

At A Story Unfolding, I joined other local authors in reading some of our original writing. It was the final event of a larger series of focused on understanding what it means to be facing a dramatically changing climate, while also building community resilience, hope, and optimism at the same time.
I’ve delivered multiple talks at our locally run Science Pubs, which are fun and educational fundraising events organized by the Cumberland Community Forest Society.
My past presentation themes have included: Sex Advice from the Forests, Swamps, Shorelines, Bloodthirsty Biodiversity, and Beavers are the Best Dam Rodents Around.

I’ve presented on Dating and Mating in the Animal Kingdom for Nerd Nite Vancouver, an event series held in over 60 cities worldwide. Penis fencing? Choreographed dances? Traumatic insemination? And you thought dating as a human was tough!
I’m a repeat participant (and former champion) of Science Slam Canada, a friendly showdown between science enthusiasts challenged to communicate their topic in a fun and engaging way in just 5 minutes. I’ve also presented engaging science presentations at both 19+ and teen evening events at Science World.
